I've had contacts with more than 2,500 gorgeous single women from all over the world since 1994 - which qualifies me to write about online dating in a way that few others can. Let's start by talking about how the ads themselves should be written.

If you want to plan your Internet dating strategy at a very high level - and especially if you'd like to meet the most attractive single women (or men) in the world, then I suggest you make a commitment to yourself to learn the art - and the skill - of writing extraordinarily effective ads. Since your contact with virtual strangers (and in many cases, beautiful strangers too) begins with the ad itself, your online dating ads should be alluring, provocative, and follow the fundamental rules of advertising - which I will explain in more detail below. In other words, to meet beautiful women on the Internet - or men - your Online Dating Ads should:

1. Identify and attract your ideal partner;

2. Illustrate in plain English what the benefits are to answering your ad;

3. Describe your best features; and

4. This might be obvious, but you should also ask your reader to reply to your ad right now!

Let's have a look at what makes up a successful online personal ad, shall we?

Identifying and Attracting Your Ideal Partner: The first part of the formula for a winning online dating ad should work by "qualifying" the reader and acting as a "filter" so your best prospects write back to you - while those who are not right for you simply pass you by!

Reader Benefits: By this we mean "what's in it for the reader?" In other words, why should the reader answer your ad - what's the benefit of communicating with you and getting to know you better?

For example,

If you're a hopeless romantic like me, and you love romantic comedies so much that you're still crying over the movie 'Sleepless in Seattle' even after having seen it nearly twenty times, then you might be interested in meeting me sometime soon - because there are dozens of tear-jerkers we could be enjoying together at this very moment!"

Can you see how the filtering process works in not only identifying and attracting your ideal partners - but also qualifying your readers so that you end up with the best prospects overall?

Now let's describe your best features: By Best Features we mean your winning characteristics. The difference between "Benefits" and "Features" can be summarized by the famous advertising slogan "Sell the sizzle, not the steak!" The sizzle is the Benefit - and the eight ounce slab of meat is the Feature!

Examples of Features would include: your height, eye and hair color, your age, occupation, and your hobbies.

When we talk about Benefits though, what we're really talking about are those intangible qualities which make you lovable and unique. For example: you love to cook, you're handy around the house, and you're very empathic. Features tend to be more static, whereas Benefits will stimulate the imagination of your reader and get them thinking about how nice it would be to have someone like you in their life day-to-day!

Last but not least, you'll certainly want to encourage your readers to respond, and in all effective advertising, you'll see a "Call to Action" at the end of each ad. At the very least, ask your reader to reply to your ad today!
